"God put me on the planet to become the singer of my life," said Evans, in a quote by John Meroney of American Enterprise. "It's my passion to do more than anything which is why I'm determined to succeed in it happen." Evans also wanted to be popular by going back to traditional country music, which was popularized by stars such as Patsy Cline and Hank Snow. Her influences were also from George Jones, Tammy Wynette as well as Patty Loveless. Evans was first successful in the late 1990s as many hopeful country singers shifted to pop-friendly songs. her debut album, True Lies, was one of the best examples. True Lies was not a major success, despite it being appreciated by critics and winning an 1998 Academy of Country Music nomination for the most female-friendly vocalist. In her next album, the 1999 album No Place That Far, Evans acknowledged producers who persuaded the artist to extend her repertoire and eventually, she received the appreciation she'd always wanted since the age of her first. Sara Evans was born February 5, 1971, in Columbia, Missouri. Sara Evans spent her childhood in the company of six other siblings.
